Sound of Monotony

Sound of Monotony

By: Jessica Richard

Drip.

Drip.

Don’t let it slip,

Between your fingers;

A life,

A dream,

A hope.

Monotony set in,

And now it’s noon,

But you still got nothing to show for,

The grind,

The dirt ,

The tears,

The hurt.

Monotony set in.

The dream died down,

And real life pushed you into the ground,

And time just keeps ticking.

Consistently.

This must not be the season to celebrate,

Or to have a good time.

It’s time

To wait,

And be still.

Cause after the grind;

After the tears are sown,

Comes harvest time.

Monotony set in,

And now it’s half past two,

But wait, your starting to take root!

Now’s the time to wait,

for the seed to grow,

Cause it’s not over night,

The fruit wont show,

Till monotony dies down,

And God says,

“Its your time,

Go.”

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. – Genesis 8:22

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. – Psalm 30:5
